Beasley & Henley chosen to design Lakeshore Club at Naples Reserve
iStar has selected Beasley & Henley Interior Design to create inviting coastal-inspired interiors for the Lakeshore Club at Naples Reserve. The main amenity building, located along the 125-acre Eagle Lake, will feature colors of sand and water and echo the Southern Coastal architecture and ambience of the lakefront community.
iStar, Builder and Developer magazine’s Developer of the Year, anticipates the Lakeshore Club, which offers a clubhouse and separate fitness center, will open in November.
In creating the coastal design with contemporary, vintage Florida and natural influences, Principal Designer Troy Beasley will complement the rustic features iStar has incorporated into the building’s Key West coastal look, including a stone fireplace, tile flooring and tongue-and-groove vaulted ceilings inside, and shake and HardiePlank lap siding, cypress trim and metal roofs on the exterior.
“Slip-covered chairs, distressed wood and black iron pieces will give the space a sense of barefoot elegance,” Beasley said. “The clubhouse will exude an air of sophistication with relaxation.”
The 5,160-square-foot main building offers a grand hall and dining area separated by the freestanding fireplace. Bifolding and double French doors open to a wraparound porch, blurring the boundaries between inside and out. The building also will have a catering kitchen and walk-up snack bar.
In the dining area, Beasley is adding a glass-tile chevron-patterned wall feature and will introduce additional elements to foster Naples Reserve’s strong sense of community, including oversized family-style tables and a chalkboard wall for messages.
“Larger tables encourage residents to congregate and meet others,” he said. “It really pulls the community together.”
Shades of blue and tan with gray accents and undertones of chocolate and charcoal allude to the club’s lakefront setting. “We’re introducing greens, yellows, pinks, reds and blues in artwork,” said Beasley. “Off-white and cream linen draperies and sheers will be light and crisp. A chandelier in the dining hall will feature rope and iron.”
Other design elements will relate to Naples Reserve’s setting against the Picayune Strand State Forest, a 76,000-acre state park with protected pinelands, cypress swamps, marshes and abundant wildlife.
“The community has so many of these beautiful lakes and you look all around and see preserves and woods, too,” said Beasley. “Above the main clubroom, we envision this organic chandelier of oversized tree branches spreading out 70 inches and floating overhead from the wood ceiling beams.”
The Lakeshore Club also includes a separate 3,500-square-foot fitness center offering an aerobics area, free weights and exercise machines, and a glass wall with sweeping views of the pool, lake and a water-accessible-only island with an oversized tiki hut.
The club’s expansive alfresco area features a resort-style pool with a waterfall and junior Olympic-size lap lanes, a splash pool for children, poolside cabanas, sunny chaise lounges, a pavilion with an open-air tiki hut, and shady umbrellas along the lakefront beach. Volleyball and bocce ball courts, party pavilion, conversation fire pit and event lawn complete the Lakeshore Club’s outdoor amenities.
“The Lakeshore Club has a great presence on the water,” Beasley said. “You walk in the front door and the view flows to the pool area, which looks like a resort, then to the floating island and the tiki hut. iStar has created a club that is well-suited for Florida’s outdoor lifestyle.”
Designed for life lived well along the water, Naples Reserve also will offer a lakefront tennis and pickleball complex, along with two miles of walking/biking paths and two dog parks.
Created amongst 22 lakes and sweeping open water views, the community emphasizes lakefront living with gracious Southern Coastal homes and a close connection to the water. Eagle Lake stretches a mile along against the Picayune Strand State Forest. Lakes provide prime opportunities for kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding.
The Outrigger Welcome Center, evocative of Key West with its palette of white, turquoise and coral, and a wraparound porch, provides information about Naples Reserve’s residential options and local attractions. The center overlooks Eagle Lake and is bordered by a dock with a boat basin. The area also includes a grand lawn, parking and a mail kiosk.
