INSIDE LOOK: What Makes Naples the Happiest City in America?
Switzerland may be the best country in the world – so says U.S. News & World Report- but there is plenty of happiness to be found here in the USA, and particularly in Florida. According to the latest data from Gallup-Healthways Naples and the nearby communities of Immokalee and Marco Island have ranked first in the “American well-being” Index for the second year in a row.
The city had the country’s highest number of residents thriving in community well-being, the highest rates of healthy eating, and lowest lifetimes diagnoses of depression. Naples is also home to the least-stressed residents of the country and we think we know what may have helped take the city back to the top. It’s Naples Reserve.
This new, casually awesome community in the heart of Naples has been generating buzz all around town, and after a visit, it is not hard to figure out why. Naples Reserve has all of the amenities you could dream of, spacious waterfront homes and a fun, carefree lifestyle that could make anyone happy.
Naples Reserve’s $7 million Island Club social center features a 5,160 sq. ft. clubhouse and an adjacent 3,500sq. ft. fitness center with movement studio for spinning, Zumba and yoga. An expansive, resort-style zero-entry pool offers dedicated lap lanes and ample room for relaxation. Indoor and alfresco gathering areas include a lakeside fire pit and casual beverage and dining options at Chat ‘n Chill Tiki Bar and Latitudes Cafe.
At the Outrigger Center, paddleboards, kayaks and canoes are available for residents use, as well as a flex-space available for game days, special events and other activities. Cruises on the community’s two Duffy boats depart from the center’s floating docks for residents to explore the 125-acre Eagle Lake and Kontiki Island.
The lakefront Match Point complex, offering tennis and pickleball courts, as well as a community boating ramp, is nearing completion. Naples Reserve also offers residents the opportunity for a private boat dock on Eagle Lake.
Additional planned amenities include a tot lot, two dog parks – Walk & Wag opening in May and Paws Awhile in 2018 – and a meandering linear park for biking, hiking and jogging. Navigating a loop road circling Naples Reserve, the park is designed to engage residents with their natural environment and provide an alternative mode of transportation throughout the community.
Naples Reserve residents also receive complimentary one-year social memberships at Walker’s Hideaway Marina of Naples, a yacht club along the Gordon River offering a marina, indoor storage for 600 boats, two waterside restaurants, outdoor pool and sauna, and access to Naples Bay.
Naples Reserve offers 17 fully decorated models available for viewing in seven of 11 planned neighborhoods built by Southwest Florida’s premier homebuilders, including Ashton Woods, D.R.
