Mark your calendars – there’s a lot to do on the Paradise Coast this month
As we move into the summer months in Naples, Florida, the days get warmer, the nights get longer, and the calendars fill up with great activities to do!
Whether you’re looking for great ways to have fun with kids, or for an intimate night out with a loved one, you’ll always find something fun to do on the Paradise Coast!
Get ready to get wild with dinosaurs and anteaters this June! From now until June 3rd, dinosaur enthusiasts everywhere can enjoy ‘Dinosaurs: Back With A Roar!’ at the Naples Botanical Garden, where they can watch animatronic dinos, including a 40 foot T-rex, move and growl while learning about these amazing beasts. Or get up close with an anteater at the Naples Zoo every Tuesday at 11:00 A.M., with their Animal Encounters! Ask an animal care team member any questions that you might have about this amazing creature, and even help feed the anteater a snack!
Absorb the local arts scene at Naples with a visit to Second Tuesday showing at the Marco Island Center for the Arts. The center is constantly updating their offerings every month, so the second Tuesday of every month signals when the center opens their new show for the month. This June 12th, visitors can view the works on display, chat with the artists about their techniques, other projects, and inspiration, and sample from the menu of a local restaurant. Or learn about the native fauna in the area at the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve with their monthly lecture series. Hosted by Adam DiNuovo, Shorebird Stewardship Program Manager for Audubon Florida, this month’s lecture will run from 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. and will focus on “The Amazing Lives of Beach-Nesting Birds”.
Dine for a good cause! Sizzle SWFL Restaurant Week is a semi-annual charity driven promotion that allows diners to choose from a prix fixe menu ranging from $26 to $36 at select local restaurants. This does both the work of exposing local restaurants to a wider audience and helping direct funds to local charities. This year, the event runs from May 31st through June 13th and features over 50 restaurants in Collier and Lee counties. $1.00 from a Sizzle SWFL Restaurant Week meal (both lunch and dinner) will go to the Sizzle SWFL FGCU Food & Beverage Scholarship.
