Retirees agree that it’s time to move to Florida!
Kudos to Naples, Florida, voted by neighborhood and lifestyle website, Livability, as “2018’s Best Places to Retire”. Why Naples? After investigating more than 20 livability factors, such as climate, quality of local hospitals and medical care, as well as the number of residents over the age of 65, Livability found that Naples scored highest in the majority of these factors. With year-round temperatures between 75 and 90 degrees and the population of residents over the age of 65 equaling 51%, there’s plenty of friends to make and something for everyone to enjoy, from outdoor activities including golf and tennis, to the arts and entertainment.
Arts and Culture
The Naples Art Association works hard to promote the works of its local artists—its goal is to raise awareness and visibility of the completed works of these rising stars of the art world. It also allows for the auteurs to get a closer look at the works of these upcoming artists and to attend the classes, festivals and artist talks that they love. One such example is the Dinner with Artists, an event where local chefs serve up dishes inspired by original works of art. The creators of these works are present to offer insight and detail for its interested patrons, making this a multi-sensory, interactive art experience.
What the Naples Art Association is to art, Artis-Naples is to live theatre. As the home of the Naples Philharmonic and The Baker Museum, you’ll find both touching gallery pieces alongside live acts that will move you to your core.
Did you know that Naples has an average of 264 sunny days per year? That’s why the residents of this town make sure to enjoy the sunshine as much as they can! Some of them spend the day at Naples Grande Golf Club, playing against friends on an Old Florida-style course designed by Rees Jones. They may also choose to practice their skills with a member from the Naples Grande Professional Staff or a member of the on-site Durland Golf School. Adrenaline junkies might head to Collier-Seminole State Park where they can kayak up and down the Blackwater River, finding the last Bay City Walking Dredge in existence or look for wildlife, such as egrets and otters.
If you’re looking for white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters, look no further! You can find it all here in Naples! Your perfect place will be Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park where you can snorkel through sea grass and coral to catch sight of redfish, tarpon, and pompano. Camp under the stars and watch the sun rise in the morning. Or better yet, throw down your beach towel and stretch out on the sand to absorb the warm rays of the sun.
From beaches to galleries to golf, Naples has it all. It’s no wonder that retirees from all over come to enjoy what this Gulf Coast town has to offer. Have you heard of Naples Reserve?
