There’s an Amenity for Any Interest at Naples Reserve

When deciding on their new home, Bill Trachtenberg and his wife, Pauline, looked at several different developments. And when they arrived at Naples Reserve, iStar’s 688-acre community of Southern Coastal-inspired attached villa, single-family and custom estate homes, it quickly stood out.

“I just got a feeling when we came into Naples Reserve,” said Bill. “The community has a very Key West, island-type of feeling. “I’ve seen some red-shouldered hawks, many ospreys, and wading birds like egrets and herons,” said Bill. “You get more wildlife here than you would if you were three or four miles farther in toward the City of Naples.”

The variety of amenities at Naples Reserve also proved a big draw for the Trachtenbergs. “I’ve started to play pickleball,” said Bill. “My wife and I have taken a few lessons and we’ve found the game fun. We can understand why people enjoy it so much. The community also has a lovely restaurant that we like very much, and there are paddleboards and kayaks available to use on the large lake right next to the clubhouse. Having amenities like that is important to me, and the whole atmosphere at Naples Reserve is something I like.”

The sand volleyball court near the Island Club social center particularly caught Bill’s eye; he was previously on the Senior Olympics volleyball team for Pennsylvania. “I’ve played at a high level of volleyball,” he said. “So I’ve told the activities staff that I can help set some things up and can run some clinics for them. That will be exciting and interesting for me.”

The anything-but-ordinary array of amenities at Naples Reserve is one reason why the community and its developer iStar were recently honored with the Collier Building Industry Association’s Sand Dollar Awards for Community of the Year ($500,000 to $1 million) and Best Landscape Design (Over $1 million).
